The past month has been filled with a number of uncertainties for me personally. With class registration coming up there are a lot of unanswered questions about what returning to in-person class is going to look like in the coming fall. I know Illinois State’s Covid plan has always been to return back to in-person classes come the fall of 21. But, does this mean socially distanced/with masks classes or back to normal? Will online classes still be offered to those who may be still don’t feel comfortable returning to campus? There’s a lot of unanswered questions as we head into next semester but with the ever-changing world we live in now, I think we can all agree a sense of normalcy is what we are all hoping for. I know for me I got that feeling this week with the return of the badminton club! I haven’t been able to play in over a year so having the opportunity to go in with socially distanced/masks guidelines felt like I was getting that sense of normalcy back in life. Also coming up next week I have my Covid-19 vaccine scheduled which will also help me personally feel more comfortable moving around campus and returning to in-person classes. Having online classes for about a year now has certainly been an adjustment but I feel as though it has truly made me appreciate what I like about in person classes and having interaction with students/faculty. I’m hopeful for next year and the many memories I will get to make as a junior!
