I decided at a really young age that I was going to go to college, and my parents realized that maybe I would be the first to actually go. For generations, in both sides of my family, no one went to college, so going seemed like something I would definitely be proud of. Now I’m in my junior year of high school and am dual enrolling at a local community college. Everyone is very proud of me and I am very proud of myself. Just because my parents didn’t go to college, and their parents didn’t go, and so on, doesn’t mean that I am limited.
I plan on being the person who takes the chains off of my family, and teaches future generations that college is not only important but achievable.
