In Kenya, Turkana County is where I grew up and spent most of my childhood there because my family and I originated from Congo DRC in South-Kivu Uvira. On top of being a first-generation child to go to college, I have suffered because of being a refugee and the first child of six raised by a single mother. I’m so glad that I get to have the opportunity neither of my parents were lucky enough to get. This is like a relay I must get to the finishing line to do it for me and my family. My mom is my biggest influence because this lady has pushed me as well as my siblings to the farthest of her efforts and it is all in my hands to keep going. You should also not give up because it is never going to be easy, you have to continue digging to get to the diamond at last hard work pays!
