My name is Stefani Martinez and I am a high school senior at Iowa Valley high school. I will be attending the University of Iowa in the fall to study human health and physiology to become a registered dietitian. As the first in my family to attend college, all I want to do is to make my parents proud. When talking about attending college with my parents I feel guilty because they never got the experience of it all. I find myself wishing they could be there with me so that we can experience it together. I must accept that my dad came here from Mexico to live a better life and that better life is also for his children. By attending college I will be able to show them that thanks to them, I am ready to put their ambitions to use.
