rodney-85I remember when I got my acceptance letter in the mail. It was a big envelope with “The University of Southern California” on the front. I was so excited. I ripped it open and saw the word “congratulations” and I couldn’t stop smiling. But soon my face turned into a puzzled look. As I continued reading, the letter said that I had been admitted for the spring of 2012. I could not believe it. I didn’t even know that was possible.

After much debating I decided to make the sacrifice and wait a semester to go to USC. It was a very tough semester! All my friends had gone off to college and were having the time of their lives while I was taking classes at a community college to replace the semester I was missing. I thought January would never come! It wasn’t until after New Years when the excitement of USC hit me again.

Now it is my fourth week at USC and I am loving every minute of it. The classes are tough, but it feels great to finally have the official college experience. The wait was totally worth it. If anyone receives spring admission from their top choice school I would recommend that they make the sacrifice and wait the semester. Its better to spend 3.5 years at a college you’re going to love than settle for 4 years at a school you don’t really want to be (although you probably could transfer).
