Ever since I could remember, I have always strived for success. Whether that be through my leadership skills, my athletics, or my academics, I never fell short in exhausting my efforts into everything that I did. Being able to attend college as a hispanic woman would mean taking the opportunity that my parents never had. Planting a seed of pride and ensuring my success to fulfill their wishes. Their missed educational opportunity only fuels my motivation to succeed in college and composes my endless gratitude toward the future I am constructing.
The only advice I have to share for any first generation college students is this: Take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you and exalt your energy into everything that you do. Never take your education for granted.
