I’m sure some of you have noticed that I have not been blogging as much as I usually do. This is because life has happened; my mom is having brain surgery. She is not doing very well and I’m trying to hold everything together.
I know I usually give awesome advice on how to handle situations during the academic school year, but i really don’t have advice on what to do in a situation like this?
Maybe go to your counseling center?
Hang out with friends?
Take an incomplete in your courses and finish them up later?
Take a medical withdraw and leave your entire semester behind to focus on your family?
I do not know.
This semester has been one of the craziest so far– And I’ve spent a semester abroad so that’s saying something.
Maybe you’re wondering what I decided to do in the midst of my mom’s illness. I’ve decided to take an incomplete, which means I have put my semester on hold to be with my family. In tern, I have 10 weeks to finish it over the summer. I feel this is a better option than a medical withdrawal because I will not lose my money, time, and courses.
I’ll just do it later.
Cool, huh?
