First thing first, happy new year! It’s hard to believe that my first college semester is over and done with! My first college semester was great, however there is always room for improvement! With the new year, I also have many new goals!
1. Go beyond school
This past semester was all about adjusting for me, I didn’t do much except adapt to my new academic environment. However, this upcoming semester I plan to join more clubs and socialize. Although I joined student government this past semester, I want to join the salsa club; why not have fun and burn calories at the same time!
2. A’s not -A’s
As a nerd, I was disappointed with the whole -A business as a grade for the overall semester =( I received three -A’s , three! Wahh! So of course I plan on changing that as well, there is always room for improvement when it comes to grades!
3. Stay on top of things
For high seniors this is the time for financial aid applications, FAFSA! Whoo-hoo exciting times =) But it is also the time for my own financial aid application renewal YAY! While at school I took the time to become familiar with my own personal financial aid advisor, which I recommend because they provide dire information that most incoming students do not know.
4. Visit the neighboring colleges
Although I have explored Boston fairly enough, I haven’t really gone and checked out the other colleges in the Boston area. I mean, there’s Boston College, Emerson, Amherst, Northeastern and just across the river, there’s Harvard and M.I.T. ! Wow just listing them is a little bit overwhelming!
5. Make the Campus Video
Ok, so I have wanted to make this video for such a long time, but I keep getting distracted as a result it keeps getting postponed. But! I will make a video of my college campus, because I am truly in love with my campus, and it is very nice on a sunny day. So that’s coming soon =)
Stay warm,
Nahomi
