Center for Student Opportunity has been there for me since day one. As a first-generation college student, I had no idea what to expect or how to prepare for life in higher education. Because no one else in my entire family had ever gone to college because of the lack of opportunities, I felt like I had no one to turn to for support and advice.
Luckily, I had CSO. They provided me with the resources and personal support necessary to help me make it to where I am now- I couldn’t have done it without them! I am currently studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain and am seeing the world in a way that I never thought possible. Of course, because of the help of non-profits like CSO, my dreams of traveling the globe are becoming a reality.
CSO has helped me discover that Education is the key to achieving your dreams- and CSO even gives me the outlet to share my other discoveries, experiences, reflections through their Student Blog! CSO sets the stage for their students to motivate and inspire other future first-generation college students through their real, first-hand experiences. It doesn’t get any better than that. In a world where the lack of role models might leave us with doubts of our potential, CSO gives us hope and shows us that there’s a brighter future ahead. CSO is more than just a non-profit… It’s a family.
Check out the video below to see some thoughts I had to share while in front of the world-famous Colosseum in Rome, Italy.
Please donate to Center for Student Opportunity this holiday season and help underserved, first-generation college-bound students in their pursuit of college.
