Hey all,
My name is Dave Stael Lacroix and I will matriculate this fall at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. I am immensely excited for the opportunity that awaits me in college. It is finally here! As first generation students, our dreams are materializing and are at our hands. Let me be the first to day, it is an honor to be selected among so many great individuals. With that being said, here are a few things about myself:

My favorite type of genre is philosophy.
I am an avid poet and a published author.
I have a keen interest in engineering and many cultures of Asia.
I am of Haitian descent. I came to this country when I was four years old and since then, I have been striving to achieve the American Dream.
College is my ticket out. Plain and simple. For many of us, this is our ticket out of our circumstances and unto a better life.
I am nervous for this upcoming chapter of our lives but I ultimately believe that, “Life is like any abyss, if you stare into it, it’ll stare into you”.
Other miscellaneous facts about me: I love Korean movies, I can speak some Greek, French, Creole, and Spanish. I did Robotics and have some proficiency in programming. I love to run. And lastly, I love to speak with others and get to know more about them!
