What do you plan to do?
I don’t know. I feel like this question has more weight by the year. What do I plan to do with my Sociology major? What do I plan to do after college? What do I plan to do with my life?
I do not know. I’m only a 3rd year! No, I am a 3rd year already.
“Get yourself an internship if you want a job after college,” she insisted.
“Do something that runs into your play. You know, something that gets you a bit irritated when something tries to pull you away from it,” he suggested.
“It’s okay. I’m 50 and I still do not know what I want to do with my life,” she assured my uncertainties.
These are the advices that I received from strangers. It’s not that I don’t have a plan or vision for post-graduation, I do. I want to work with first-generation and low-income college or high school students through some sort of college-preparatory program or bridge program. Furthermore, I want to stay in the education field. However, I respond with a “I don’t know,” because I have no idea how the plans of my life will be in the next five years.
So what do I plan to do?
Who knows.
