As my semester is coming to an end there are a few things floating around in my mind. In just a few short months I will be starting my senior year. I can’t believe how quickly it has snuck up on me. I feel as if I started college last week. High school felt like it took forever and that I never thought it would end, but with college, I feel like I blinked and now its almost done! So just a reminder, enjoy yourself; it goes too fast and before you know it, it will be time to go out into the real world.

After a busy semester of trying to build up my resume and raise my GPA for my upcoming graduate school applications, here’s a tip. Do not wait until the last minute to get everything done that you need to. That is not saying you need to drive yourself crazy trying to get everything done; some of these things can be fun! Get an internship, or two, or three. It is an easy, fun, and extremely beneficial way to figure out what you want to do. By far my internship was the best thing I have done here and I can’t wait to plan another one next year. Also find something you are passionate about and then work your way up the ladder. Being on the executive board of an organization I am proud of is an amazing concept.

My final bit of advice is to take your general education and required classes and get them out of the way. As I am planning my schedule for next year, I am amazed with the free room I have. Not only do I have the chance to take classes that I think sound interesting but I get to have enough free room to do independent study and take another internship if I want to. While it meant that the last three years I have taken classes that were not so interesting, it is paying off in the end.

Enjoy your summer and good luck next school year!
