It’s that time of the year again! School has just begun but this year is different than any other. It’s my last year! It’s a bittersweet moment for me, as I just came back from abroad in Spain and now I feel like a brand new student. My campus has opened their new Data Science building and dorm for first year students. Everything seems just different. However, I am so excited to be back to see my friends, start my position as President of an engineering organization and finish my last year strong!

With graduation just around the corner, I am now focusing more on opportunities post graduation. I’ve been fortunate enough to have attained two internships for an amazing company. My first internship was working in the sector of elevators/moving walkways as a sales intern where I assisted in accounts receivable, drawings, setting up AIA (American Institute of Architects) meetings and more. My second internship was working in the sector of air conditioning/heat pumps as a manufacturing engineer intern where I made sure the machines were up to date and fixed to ensure effectiveness. All in all, these internships have made me realize my passion for engineering. It’s been an rewarding experience to work with talented individuals and has given me a broader perspective of Corporate America.

As you’re finishing up your college career or even starting in that matter, join organizations or seek out resources. You’ll be surprised how much you learn about yourself. One thing can lead to another. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Do you see yourself in graduate school, behind a desk, traveling the world or having your own law firm? There’s endless amounts of opportunities out there and it’s never too late to start early! I’m excited for what this year has to offer especially for what lies after graduation. If you have any questions in terms of study abroad, internships or even just academia, feel free to comment your email!
