My Freshman year was a breeze.

The classes (mainly basics) felt like high school. They never required a whole lot of effort. I never felt consumed by the assignments and “studying” didn’t take any longer than 15 minutes. Freshman year was similar. All I ahd to do was keep up with the homework and studying beforehand for about 30-45 minutes and I was pretty much golden. Well, this year was my rude awakening.

This year I have been completely drowning in my work and I have really been struggling. I am sort of at a loss because I have never been in a situation like this before. I’m having to put in more effort than ever before and it’s been really difficult and time consuming. I am in need of tutoring and I find the material so frustrating. But I have to do what needs to be done in order to receive a passing grade. (All of this on top of finding a job because I have bills to pay!)

The big take away is, regardless of a subject being easy or not, it is crucial to develop good studying habits that can follow you to college. It is so important to really LEARN the material as opposed to just memorizing. And DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS!!! I cannot iterate that enough. The only stupid questions are the ones not asked.

Make good choices!

Till next time,

Andrea
