Year two, Go. Sophomore year is here! It has only been a year but I feel a lot wiser coming back to Williams. There’s an entire class of new faces on campus, and I am a year older. One year might not seem like a long time but it makes a huge difference in college. My first year wasn’t a walk in the park. I definitely struggled with the workload at Williams, but that didn’t keep me from giving it my all and coming back for round two. The workload doesn’t get any better, but you learn how to deal with it. You learn little tricks to get the most out of your readings and problem-sets. This year, I’ve started reading between classes. Sounds simple enough right? Learning to do work in between classes makes a huge difference. What I used to do last year was save all my homework for the nighttime, because I thought that I could just focus and complete all of it in that one chunk of time. Unsurprisingly, I found out that the workload was just too much to pile up. Putting my homework off till the nighttime was never a good idea because I would only touch the surface. So this year I’ve been breaking up my homework into smaller more manageable chunks and completing it whenever I get the chance to, which is why I started reading in between classes. Tiny little steps will add up, and they will help immensely in the long run. Treat everything as a learning experience, work hard, and learn more.
