Hi, my name is Aerial and I am here to share my story of being the first student in my family to be attending college. Growing up my parents only had a high school education, therefore being a student it was hard to get guidance on any homework or scholarships, however, I am very thankful for my parents’ help. All of the struggles helped me build an idea of how hard it was to get a solid job without a degree. Since I was a little girl I set a goal for myself to go to college, gain a degree, and work to be financially stable in the future. Although the goal at times has been blurry from the difficulties and diversities I had to maintain a strong mind. If there is any advice I could give first-generation students, that would be to continue to run the good race, it will pay off in the end.
