What is my number one challenge in college? Well seeing as this blog is due by the end of the day you can see how it might be procrastination. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all about getting my homework done and over with so I don’t have to worry about it; but a wise friend once told me “if all you have is a minute, it will only take you a minute”. Now although this does ring true, you also have to think of other factors that will weigh into a homework assignment like quality… that’ll make you rethink my friend’s philosophy. Yes, there are many excuses for not getting things done, and yes I could write a book full of all of the ones I’ve used. Like “oh, but my bed looked so comfortable” and “I had too much other homework to do”. But the fact of the matter is you will only get out of your education what you put into it. So yes, I am a Junior and I am still struggling with my procrastination skills, but here’s the thing; college is the place to learn the consequences of this trait. I would much rather struggle with procrastination in college than in my career. I’m slowly but surely learning my lesson: that procrastination doesn’t always end with the result you hoped for. So let’s make a goal, next month I will try to get my blog done 10 days before the end of the month. What’s your goal?
