With summer being around the corner, that means we college students are looking for internships or already getting congratulation letters. This summer I will be working with BMO Harris Bank as a Commercial Banking Business Intelligence Analyst. You may be asking, how did I get this internship? Well, it all comes down to networking. I met a BMO representative during the Summer Internship Fair held by my high school scholarship alumni program. What really made me stand out in my perspective was the questions I was asking, to show my interest in this program. After the fair, I got in contact with the same representative who really helped me out and was prepping me before my interview. I can not express how important it is for you to network, meaning talking and getting to know people. Knowing someone from that company can really increase your chances of getting that internship that you are looking for. Be yourself and charm them with your charisma because of course they will be looking at your grades and your major, but all they are looking for is a person who is determined to learn, passionate, and a good person. Since there are many candidates, connections are really important because they can vouch for you.
