It’s the beginning of a new semester! For some of us, this isn’t our first time going in to a new semester, and for others it is! No matter if you’re new or returning, getting back into the groove of the new semester can be a difficult transition.

I found for me, personally, making a schedule that lays out my classes and incorporates time to work on assignments is super helpful. Having pre-planned time to get things done helps you feel less stressed about when you need to get things done – you’ll have that time set aside already! Google Calendar is incredibly helpful with this, especially because you can have notifications or alarms go off through your phone to remind you that you have class! Another great tool is Notion – you can create calendars, checklists, blank pages, and so much more with it! It is both an app and a site so you can use it on whatever devices you have!

Something critical to your success is knowing your time and knowing how to spend that time. So working out a schedule incorporating your homework and studying time is pretty important. Something to keep in mind though, is while you need to work, if you’re always working the product of your work wont be as good as it could be if you weren’t overworking yourself! It is important to make sure your schedule incorporates time for yourself. What you do with that time is up to you – whether you want to work out, draw, just hang out with friends, etc., but it is important to take that time for yourself. We all get a little ambitious about what we can take on, and sometimes it ends up being too much, so keep that in mind when you are working things out.

Overall, a key thing to learn is time management. You should learn how to maintain a balance between your personal life and your schoolwork. If you work too hard, you’ll overexert yourself, but if you work too little you won’t get anything done. Making a schedule that keeps you on track of doing work at [x] time and relaxing at [y] time can really help.
