Hey all,

It feels as if it has been forever since I have been on here! First off I just want to start and say how grateful I am to the I’m First Scholarship. They have helped me immensely and as I wrap up my Junior year, I am immensely excited for what the future holds.Today I will be talking about the financial aid process. For all of you applying to college, I know that it can seem extremely daunting but one thing that you have to know is that knowing the ins and outs of the financial aid process is crucial to being successful in college and saving yourself lots of stress. Firstly, every school’s financial aid process is different so make sure to read up on what documents your school requires of you. Also know what your options are, it is easy for people to get locked down into something that they did not know about. Another thing I’d recommend is seek out the opinion of older students who have been through similar situations as yourself. If I have learned one thing about financial aid it’s that it is never wise to try and attack it yourself. Also if you are interested in studying abroad or etc, financial aid people will be able to direct you to resources. I’ve also learned that persistency and curiosity is important especially when it comes to understanding your individual finance so book a visit to your financial aid office and know your financial aid situation!
