The last thing you may want to think about when worrying about classes, integrating, and a whole new chapter of your life is finances. It is crucial that you stay on top of them and always know what is going on; this will help to ensure you have enough money to pay for your classes, your necessities, bills, books and supplies, etc. While the task may be daunting and overwhelming it will pay off in the long run. You will know either exactly or the rough estimate of what you are allotted per item that needs to be paid.
The best way to do this is to set up an excel spreadsheet (you can do this on Google Docs) and start by inputting your incoming cash (whether from your job, allowance, or whatever income source) and from there categorize recurring expenses and how much will be taken out or needs to be paid. This will allow you to see how much and to what your money goes to and when. This also lets you see how much money you are leftover with and from there you can choose to keep that as extra spending money for entertainment or set it aside to be put into savings.
Keeping track of your finances allows you to keep track of expenses and how to make the best financial decisions.
Until next time,
Andrea
