Dear friend,
We’ve come a long way since freshman year of High school. We were only 14 years old sitting in Biology class and now we are almost in our 20s and in university. At first, it seemed weird to me to hear that you applied to Wittenberg because it was a small campus in the middle of nowhere. Nonetheless, I was excited for you, you were really happy, and I heard the campus looked gorgeous. I still remember the day you got accepted and when I had to come over and help you pack up basically your whole life. We laughed, we cried, and we said goodbye to each other (a little overreaction if you ask me now). The next time I got to see you was about three months later when you came back for fall break. It was funny to me because during that whole break, you were at my house and the one day you weren’t was to go spend time with your sister for her birthday. While you were off at Witt doing your own thing, and making friends, I was trying to come up with a possible plan for my future. I didn’t know what I would be doing the next year or if I was even going to go to university here but then winter came, and I decided to apply to colleges and one of them was Wittenberg University. You told me to go there to be with you and that it would be fun. I never had any dream colleges I wanted to go to but at that moment I knew Witt was the school I needed to get into. Months went by and then on March 2, 2022, the day came when I got my acceptance letter. I know the reason I got in that day was because of what you said to me in front of the Boba shop. Good energy was put into the world that day and now here we are, just a couple of sophomores trying to finish 2nd semester. When I first got to Witt as a transfer, I decorated the room and moved everything around only for you to show up and make us change rooms. At the time I was a little irritated since I had to haul everything to a different room, but it did end up being bigger and worth it. It was fun getting to decorate the room with you and seeing the final outcome. Although the campus is small compared to other places, I was still lost and didn’t know where anything was. You showed me around and took me to different buildings just so I wouldn’t be anxious on my first day, you also introduced me to your new friends and made me become a part of that group. There’s been a lot I could write about when it comes to you helping me but I think it would be too long. I don’t think I ever told you, but I am really grateful to have you in my life. Sometimes I feel like you are my mother because of how much you help me out. Although I might not be the most mature or smartest, I do hope there are things I do to help you out just like you do to me.
