How is it already Week 10? It feels like this semester just started! It’s about to be November and I don’t know if I’m ready yet.

In general, time flies, but when you are in college, semesters are a blink of an eye. Sometimes it feels like the blink of an eye is slower than the semesters. This can be very stressful as a college student because sometimes you feel like you don’t have the time to either complete your work or to get that grade up. I am here to remind you that while it’s week 10, it is not too late!

Start talking to your professor if you haven’t done it yet! Go to their office hours. If you have a grade you are not happy about, talk to the professor (NOW) to see if what ways they can help you! Start focusing more in your class. Think wisely. Choose wisely. Is it better for you to go out that one night or to focus on that one course you are failing? (there is a right answer!!!)

I know as a first gen it’s hard to depend on your parents or guardians to ask them college related questions, so DEPEND ON the success centers! If you need help with a course, get tutoring. If you are failing with essays, go to the writing center! If you need someone to talk to, take advantage of the counseling at your school!
