For those of you who played around with your calculator during math class, you’ll know the secret word! (hint: it says……….

HELLO! ^_^

for those of your reading this, it’ll be obvious that i’m a rookie at blogging. I’ve always wanted to try it, but never had the opportunity. Then–ta-da! I’m here now. 🙂 But this first post will be a mere introduction..

My name is Megan. I have many nicknames, oddly enough I’m used to being called cookie–but if I put that as a preferred nickname I’d be judged so hard. hahaha I live on the Navajo Nation Reservation in Arizona in a small town named Fort Defiance (like, under 3,000 small). I’ve lived there all my life, but I left for boarding school in California coming into freshman year. I’m the youngest of three children; one brother and one sister. They’ve both gone to college as well. Being the youngest I’ve received a lot of advice of each, which I’ll share with you all in later posts. My birthday is coming up quick ^^ October 5, I’ll be 19. I’m one of the older ones in my section of the dorm–dorm. College. Whitman College! I attended Whitman on basis of the financial aid they offered me but it was also my second choice school. I was raised with the idea that I’d go through college–kind of like a given. I didn’t even know the phrase “first generation” though. It came through an explanation that my college provided me with then they directed me to I’m First!. It all worked out, I learned something knew about myself and gained a whole new perspective but also realized who I wanted to help the most–other first generations going through the college struggle with little understanding other than to get into one. Overall, I really hope I’ll be of use to you all.

Till the next post!

Megan
