Holy cow, I am a junior in college. Not that long ago, I didn’t think I was ever going to make it to this point and it has taken a lot of work to make sure that I did. Now that I am half way through, I know it is only going to get harder and I need to buckle down and get serious. I am looking forward to this year for exactly that. This is the time that I start getting more involved within my major and more importantly what I want to do within my major. It is an exciting thing to think about, but at the same time, it is a scary thing to think about. The last two years have gone by so fast and while I am excited to get out in the world and make a difference, there are times that I don’t think I am ready to move on.
Some advice to the high school seniors and the college freshman:
When starting college, remember to have fun, it goes so much faster than you can ever imagine, but don’t have too much fun. Most students may not get really involved within their major until later in their college career, but those gen. ed. classes are important too. You don’t want to wake up at the beginning of your junior year and not be ready for the work load because you slacked off. Or even worse, not having the grades you need to have to get into any graduate program you may want.
