Hey everyone! It’s that time of year again…Thanksgiving! The one holiday where we all stop and take time to look at everything and everyone we are thankful for. I have plenty to be grateful for, and this semester more so than any other has helped me to realize just how blessed I really am.
To be honest, this semester has been the toughest one of my life thus far. The amount of schoolwork on top of the stresses of everyday life, such as finances, as well as the worries of trying to secure and internship and figure out what I want to pursue as a career has been a bit overwhelming at times. Those are the times, though, when you really see who is there for you and really cares about you. First and foremost I am thankful for my family. No matter what happens in life, if I have my family I know I will be okay. They are my support system, I can go to them with any of my troubles or worries and they are there to show me nothing but love, compassion, and true concern and care for me. There have been a couple times over the past few months where I wanted to just give up. I would look at how much work I had to do for school and I thought there was no way I could handle that much within a short amount of time. However, after some encouraging words from my parents and friends, it gave me the motivation to push through and sure enough I conquered everything I had stressed out about so much. I want to encourage you, then, to never give up. Although what you come against in life can often times seem insurmountable, with enough hard work, determination and support I have no doubt that you can get through it and come out stronger once it’s all said and done. I have no idea what you’re going through, but I assure you that no matter what it is, you have the strength to conquer it. Just take the time to step back, look at what you have and what you can be thankful for, and pull motivation from that in order to move forward.
Thanks for reading, have a great Thanksgiving and good luck on your college search and application process!
