I am the oldest out of four kids but I will be the first Urrutia to go off to college. I am very excited to be the first but also nervous because i know my little brothers will be watching for my example. I am also nervous because my parents and grandparents want me to exceed the expectation. I am excited though because getting accepted to the school i wanted to go to, was a way of telling people that just because i am the first and Hispanic, does not mean that i will not succeed!
I can’t wait to see my family’s expression on my first day of college life. I may not have anyone close to me to know what it is like to go to college, but i am proud and honored to break the cycle and be the first one to experience it.
